A major part of the Festival of India is the traditional Basketball Tournament. The tournament will be held at the prominent University of Texas at Austin's RecSports Center. We have booked three courts for the tournament, allowing multiple games to be played and permitting efficiency in the tournament schedule.

In an attempt to bring the competitive nature of the annual tournament to this year’s event, the Brothers of the Founding Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi are eager to encourage South Asian teams all over the state of Texas and across the country to participate and entertain the FOI crowd with their talent. This year, the tournament will accommodate 20 teams and include professional referees. Teams from around the nation come to play in this tournament because of the quality, competition, and status it has earned over recent years, largely in part of Delta Epsilon Psi’s reputation for throwing signature sporting events. The preliminary games will run on Saturday, April 24th, 2010 throughout the day and finals will be held on Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The winning teams will be awarded trophies, individual medals, and $2,500 in cash prizes. We are confident that the basketball tournament will be a thrilling addition to the FOI 2010 Weekend.
