ALL MEMBERS MUST READ AND ABIDE BY ALL TERMS UNDER RULES AND REGULATIONS
I) Registration Terms:
- The Application Fee of $50 must be paid by Sunday March 14th, 2010. Application Fee can be made payable to the Delta Epsilon Psi. This payment is non-refundable.
- Only teams that have completed the required documentation will be given registration priority.
- Upon applying and being selected to perform by the Festival Of India 2010 Committee, there will be a $150 Performance Fee for your team.
- The maximum number a team can have is 20 members unless cleared with Delta Epsilon Psi prior to the registration deadline. This includes all singers, dancers and musicians.
- If an individual(s) has been removed off the team list he/she must understand that they will lose all VIP privileges and are required to purchase a regular ticket.
- The organizing committee has the right to decline the registration of any team.
- If a team registration is rejected, all registration materials are property of Delta Epsilon Psi.
- All participants must have the appropriate identification, which must be presented on the day of the event.
II) Disqualification Terms:
- Any team or members degrading or ridiculing FOI 2010 (Radio, Media, Email etc.) may also result in legal proceedings.
- Any team involved in theft of any assets of FOI 2010.
- Any team who falsifies information and disagrees to abide by all regulations will automatically have their registration form declined.
- Any team member(s) interfering in the operation of any FOI 2010 employee(s), director(s), organizer(s), other team members, door operations and ticket sales will be automatically disqualified and removed from the premises.
- Any tardiness may result in deduction of points from the total score.
- The consumption of alcohol and/or use of any illegal substance or being under the influence at or near the premises of the venue will NOT be tolerated. Delta Epsilon Psi and the venue reserve the right to DISQUALIFY and/or EXPEL any participant(s) partaking in, or reasonably suspect for, such activity.
- Any obstruction or interference before, during or after the event will result in immediate disqualification.
- Any deliberate harassment or confrontation between opposing teams shall result in immediate disqualification and ejection from premises.
- No team member(s), participant(s), or assistant(s) are allowed to interfere or debate with the panel of judges regarding their scorecard. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification.
III) Performance Terms:
- Teams may be comprised of males, females, or a combination of both genders.
- At least 75% of all team members must be of South Asian decent.
- There will be a Dress Rehearsal time given to each team from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the day of the event. Teams will be assigned a time upon their acceptance. Most of your team should be available at the assigned time. 5 Points will be deducted from each judge's evaluation form for teams not showing up for dress rehearsal time.
- We require teams to arrive at Riverbend Center no less than 30 minutes prior to their assigned rehearsal time on the day of the show. Failure to do either of the two may result in deduction of points or disqualification.
- Each team is requested to be on the dance floor according to their registered time. Any delay may lead to a deduction of points by the judges from the overall score.
- The total performance length is limited to a maximum time of 8 minutes and a minimum time of 5 minutes. Points may be deducted if performance goes over/under.
- No individual is allowed to participate or perform for more than one team unless given consent by the Festival Of India 2010 Talent Show Committee.
- Only two individuals per team will be allowed special entry and exit privileges to handle team equipment/costumes when accompanied by an event staff member. These sole people will also be called upon to be the liaison between the organizing committee and the team.
- Fireworks or acoustics will not be permitted during the performance.
- During prize distribution, only those individuals on the registration form shall be allowed to come to the stage area. All other individuals will not be permitted on stage.
- During prize distribution it is the responsibility of the team liaison to only allow the registered participants to be part of the award ceremony.
- Unauthorized audio, visual recording, or any combination thereof, is NOT permitted at anytime, during the day of the event.
- Delta Epsilon Psi will be doing the audio, visual recording, and photo for the event. Video and Photos will be available for sale 2 weeks after the competition.
IV) Judges Privacy Terms:
- All decisions made by the judges are final.
- No team is allowed to discuss their performance and their award position with any of the judges.
- Festival of India 2010 will not disclose the team mark allocated by individual judges, nor which judges gave them a specific mark.
V) Awards Terms:
- The registered team member(s) that finish top 3 will be awarded prize.
- Prizes will NOT be awarded to non-participating members.
- In the event that team makes a fraudulent claim to attain a prize, all titles and prizes, will be revoked.
- All prizes are not for sale and are limited to award winning participants only.
- Each prize will be presented with an engraved name of the competetion and year of championship.
- The design of the prize may not be duplicated or expressed on any format, without the consent of Festival of India Executives.
- In the event the prize or awards is abused or misused, the team will be disqualified and all awards and titles will me removed and repossessed.
- In the event a team members misplace or loses his/her prize, they will be required to pay for all incurred fee for a replacement, including administration fees, taxes and any other applicable fees.
VI) Instrumental Terms:
- No weapons will be allowed during any performance.
- Use of additional equipment must receive approval from the organizing committee two weeks prior to the event.
- Music must be recorded and presented in a CD format for use at the event. (Two labelled CD's must be presented at Dress Rehearsal)
- The CD on which a team's performance music is recorded must have all the music for the whole routine, on one continuous track, including all breaks or pauses. (Have only one track recorded on the CD).
- Each team is required to have an additional copy of their music on the day of the event.
- The organizing committee is not responsible for any technical difficulties encountered by anyteam's music (i.e. CD damage or scratches).
Festival of India 2010 Directors reserve the right to implement any new rule(s) or regulation(s) necessary for the competition.
